Gary had two remote broadcasts on one Saturday afternoon in August— He began with a visit to Clinton, Oh at the Veterans Family Festival and ended up at Clay’s Park for the Hot Air Balloon Lift, courtesy of Miller Lite!

If you’ve never been to the Veterans Park in Clinton, please check it out.  The memorial to Ohio Veterans lost in Vietnam is an amazing site and truly a special way to honor the vets in that war and others.

Clay’s Park was wonderful.  Wish we could’ve stayed longer to enjoy all of the swimming activities.  They’ve really done a great job upgrading and making the park special for visitors.

A Big Thank you to everyone to helped us out with the big Backpack Challenge!   Many of you stopped out to Once Upon a Child and dropped off much-needed school supplies for children in the My101.7 FM listening area.

A special thanks to Bob and the staff at Once Upon A Child for opening their doors early from 6a to 9a and offering 30% savings to anyone who shopped during those early morning hours.

We don’t know how many items were dropped off, but the bin was almost full by the time we left!

Gary was invited to take a flight on board the Wind Trek Hot Air Balloon during the 2010 Hall of Fame Balloon Classic Invitational this year.

Rick Kohut, the pilot, and his crew have been ballooning since 1998.

Gary was one of the first balloons up nd one of the last to land, as it finally settled in a park just north of the Canton Centre Mall. The entire flight was broadcast live on the My 101.7fm morning show.
