Gary Interviews Marlo Thomas

Marlo Thomas is a four-time Emmy award-winning actress, author, entrepreneur, and activist whose body of work has also earned her the Peabody, a Golden Globe, a Grammy and, in 2014, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest honor a civilian can receive, awarded to her by President Barack Obama. Marlo burst onto the scene as “That Girl,” television’s first independent working woman, and went on to create “Free to Be…You and Me,” the groundbreaking children’s record, book, and TV special. Marlo remains a constant presence on television and the Broadway stage, including the 2022 Hallmark Channel holiday release, “A Magical Christmas Village,” guest starring with Alison Sweeney and Luke MacFarlane.

GARY’S INTERVIEW

Gary really just listens to Marlo as she talks about the work that is going on with St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital — Marlo serves as the National Outreach Director of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which was founded in 1962 by her father, show business legend Danny Thomas. Along with her brother and sister, Tony Thomas and Terre Thomas, they created the annual Thanks and Giving holiday campaign which to date has raised over a billion dollars to support the hospital’s mission that no family ever receives a bill for treatment, housing, travel and after-care and, in the words of her father, that no child shall die in the dawn of life.
