Former NFL Quarterback Doug Williams spoke to Gary Rivers and Jon Bozeka Tuesday morning about the upcoming Black Football Hall of Fame Classic.

Douglas Williams is a former American football quarterback and former head coach of the Grambling State Tigers football team.  He’s known most for his amazing performance in Super Bowl XXII against the Denver Broncos.  He passed for a Super Bowl record  340 yards and four touchdowns, with one interception.

He was the first African-American quarterback to win a Super Bowl; even though he did not start the season.

Most recently, he was rehired by the Redskins as a front office personnel executive.

The first-ever Black College Football Hall of Fame (BCFHOF) Classic is being held on the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s campus over Labor Day weekend. Nearly 20 legendary members of the Black College Football Hall of Fame, including a number of those also enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, will be on hand for the Classic’s festivities.

These Legends of the Game will attend various events during the weekend and will also participate in the coin toss at the game. Details regarding a special “Meet & Greet” featuring a number of the greats who made significant contributions at Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs) will be posted to the Hall of Fame’s website (www.ProFootballHOF.com) and shared via social media (@ProFootballHOF on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) in the days leading up to the inaugural classic.

The game features two HBCUs as Alabama A&M University Bulldogs of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) face the Morehouse College Maroon Tigers from the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) on Sunday, Sept. 1 at 3:30 p.m. in Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.
