A Quiet Place
Ironic that a movie about being quiet would make so much…noise…at the box office.
Pardon the pun, but the hype is real on this latest sci-fi horror flick..
The premise is simple…yet somehow Hollywood has never done this. An alien being that hunts through sound. The world must go silent in order to live. We follow one family’s efforts to stay alive.
Directed by and Starring John Krasinski, along with his real life wife, Emily Blunt who turn in great performances.
The story starts off a little slow. But, I believe the pacing was by design….slow at times….but when the terror comes, you’re ready to jump out of your seat. The ending was intense— as all great horror genre films attempt.
and when the Abbot family has to be quiet…you can hear a pin drop in the theater as well.
To be sure, there are a few missing pieces to the story. We never find out how the creatures came here, or why. And, why on earth couldn’t our military have wiped em out?
But, maybe I just think too much. I should probably just enjoy the ride.
All in all, it’s a fun flick that you’ll come away satisfied. But, I doubt it keeps you up at night
I’m not ready to ordain it as an instant classic, like any of the reviewers. but, I give it. a solid 4 out of 5 stars
I’m Gary Rivers and that’s what’s happening at the movies. Tune in again next Monday morning for another Movie Review and a chance for you to win a pair of tickets to the Cinemark Theaters.
